ENGLISH COUNTRY HOUSE SHOOTING PARTIES

Enjoy the unique experience of the English country house shooting
party at a price you can afford. You can now indulge in one of these classic
breaks, once reserved exclusively for the privileged few.

Your sport will be among the gently rolling hills, wooded valleys, lakes and
streams of the counties of Kent and Sussex, an easy drive from the Channel
Tunnel and sea ports, or London's Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
|
|
|
Your shooting will be in the true English tradition of high flying, driven
partridges, pheasants and duck. You will spend your day with the land owner
or shoot manager, and village folk who will be your beaters, or dog
handlers to retrieve your birds.
|
|
|
|
You will stay in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in the former mansion
home of a wealthy estate owner and now The Spa Hotel, a luxury
establishment owned by the renowned Goring family which also owns
the 5 star Goring hotel in London.
|
|
At The Spa, after a day of activity in the field, you will relax in
sumptuous splendour enjoying fine wines and food. For those in your
party who do not wish to join in the sport, the town has excellent
shopping facilities and London and its theatres are only one hour by
train. For the ladies, the hotel has a beauty parlour and fitness training.

|
Your day will begin - if you wish - with a dip in the hotel's indoor pool
or even a work out in the well equipped gym. After a full English breakfast,
you will leave for the shoot at about 08.00 or, if you prefer, wait until
you arrive at the shoot for bacon rolls, coffee and orange juice perhaps
spiced with Champagne!

Then, you will "draw pegs" for the first of five or even six drives
when your skills as a shooter will be fully tested. Between
drives, you will relax talking to your friends before moving on
for the next challenge.

|
|
Usually, after about the third drive, you will pause
for refreshments such as traditional English sloe gin and biscuits and after
the last drive, as the sun goes down, you will either finish the day with a
hot meal in the shoot lodge or village "pub" or return straight to the hotel
for dinner in the award winning dining room.

|
|
All of this was once the privilege of the aristocracy and the wealthy land
owners of the "ruling class". No expense was spared - and it would have
been impolite to discuss the cost! Times have changed, and we can offer it
at a cost acceptable to discerning shooters while still retaining the full
experience of the English country house shooting party.
|
This offer is open to parties of 6 to 10 guns - with or without partners -
at an example price of a little over GBP £600 for each hunter fully
inclusive of an evening meal and a night in your room at The Spa, your
breakfast the next morning before a full day's shooting with lunch, and
then another evening meal and a second night at the hotel with breakfast
on the third day.
We shall be delighted to quote you for a party of up to 16 (8 shooters) for
up to three days sport on different estates in the locality, staying at The
Spa for 4 nights. These packages are for shooting on the Thursday, Friday
and Saturday, leaving your hotel after breakfast on the Sunday.

For UK based clients, the one day shoots are ideal for corporate
entertainment, perhaps coupled with a conference or similar meeting on the
day preceding your shooting. The hotel has full conference and other
